Indigenous employment

Indigenous employment

On the lands that we study, we walk, and we live, we acknowledge and respect the traditional custodians and cultural knowledge holders of these lands. At the University of Wollongong (UOW), we are dedicated to being an employer of choice for Indigenous people, as we champion the process of truth telling and recognition in all that we do. There is a shared commitment from the whole of UOW with strong leadership from the organisation's executive and leadership teams that will champion Indigenous employment. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace that reflects the rich culture that Indigenous people bring to UOW. We recognise the importance of increasing the representation of Indigenous people within our workforce and are dedicated to achieving. We are proud to embrace Indigenous knowledges, cultures, and values in our teachings, research and operations. Our goal is to reach, maintain and exceed the three per cent Indigenous staff representation across all levels of academic and professional roles. We believe that by doing so, we will enhance our organisation's culture while building meaningful relationships and reputation with Indigenous communities and providing opportunity for our Indigenous staff to grow and progress their career.
